Im 14, going on 15. My mum allows me to wear makeup, like eyeliner, mascara, light blush. And for special occasions, lip gloss. So basically, I don’t really have a problem with her allowing me to use make up. She even encourages it sometimes. But I’m not sure how to ask her to help me get some of my own makeup, because I’ve been using hers and i have to go to her room and share her makeup and mirror. I don’t go out on my own really often, and even when i do, with friends, I find it really weird for a 14 year old to be shopping for makeup. So, I’ve been trying to hint to my mum to get her to buy me some makeup. I tried being really interested and everything when we went into a makeup store, but that didn’t work. I think she didn’t notice. And it’ll be kind of awkward to ask her straight out for my own makeup. So any other tips? I’m really hoping that i won’t have to share her makeup till i’m like 18 or something, because that would be really weird.
I can’t earn my own money to buy my own make-up because where I live, no one would give a 14 year old a job, and babysitting is non-existent.
I’m not sure how my parents would feel about me using my own allowance to buy make-up, because that would definitely expect me to ask them first. And my dad would probably say no to the idea of me buying my own make-up, which is why i kind of need my mum as a ‘cover’ to help me get makeup.
And, the makeup is just for when i go out, like shopping, or dinner with my family. Definitely not school. No one wears makeup to school anyway.
Hey all!
I’ve had the same “natural” look for ages and am looking to spice it up. I’m 23 so nothing too old-fashioned and nothing too teenagery. Any ideas?
Currently I wear:
L’oreal e/s on the brow bone in Shroom Shimmer
Covergirl e/s in the crease in Tapestry Taupe
Covergirl e/s in the inner corners in Champagne
Maybelline unstopple e/l in dark brown
maybelline great last mascara in brown black
tinted moisturizer in fair with concealer in fair under my eyes
ugh. . . boring! Any suggestions for someone with fair skin, blonde hair, and green eyes?
Thanks!
Okay so, i am thirteen years old. . And, i wanted to know, how much make-up does an average student/ teenager wear to school. . i usually wear mascara, eyeliner[only at da bottom] and some clear lip gloss. . Is that too mch 4 a thirteen year old? most of the girls i know wear foundation and all that stuff. .
BTW, Does nair pretty hair removal cream really work and how long does it last? nd, is it good?
Fnx for da help,
Sarah. . XD
She has been shaving her legs since she was 8, getting her brows waxed regularly since she was 10, and now she is starting to get her nails done with acrylic. Up until a couple of months ago she wore crazy blue eye shadow with bright lipsticks. I took her to get a make-up lesson and bought her a full set of eye shadows, lip glosses and mascara. At least now it is tastefully done. We put our foot down on the type of clothes she can wear when she is at our house. I know there isn’t anything we can do about what her mother lets her do, but my question is. . am I old fashioned? It sits so poorly with me to see an 11 year old dressed up like a twenty year old. Shouldn’t we as women be installing values in our children based on character, intelligence, kindness and originality. Shouldn’t our focus be on building self confidence and independence? She has her whole life to worry about her appearance! Why are we pushing our girls to start down this road so young?
Thank you ladies for your answers. I should clarify that I have only been her step mom for a little over three months. We only have her 8 days a month at this time. The bio mom is not rational right now, it appears as though she may be going through a mid-life. We are in court to get the custody reversed, but until then there is not much we can do when she is not with us. We have a lot of emotional and physchological issues we are dealing with as well. So as to picking my battles I wanted to hear from other women on some of these issues.
Okay, first of all, this isn’t make up but related to the next few questions I’ll ask. . . How can I clear my skin up perfectly? I have quite a nice complexion, besides sometimes having a few pimples and blemishes, and my skin is quite oily around my nose, chin, and forehead, so how can I reduce that?
Now onto make up questions, what foundations can I use for a flawless finish? What are some good volumising mascara (make eyelashes appear thicker)? And is there any way to make eyelashes thicker?
Sorry for all the questions, hopefully you can help!
Thanks
hi! so i’m doing the stage make up for a play- taming of the shrew- and for Petruchio, one of the men, i was wanting him to have a dark, handsome, brooding look. i want him to look manly and sexy, not feminine but i’ve never tried this before so i was wondering what people think i should use to get this look
the ideas i had to make this work were-
- eyeliner on top and bottom smudged with no defined lines.
or
-mascara and dark brown eyeshadow on his eyelid and on the bottom lash line
what do you think? does anyone else have any other ideas? or tried anything like this before? thank you so much!!!!
I’m 14 years old and have hereditary acne. My older siblings (18 + 20) acne got really bad in highschool so they went on Accutane and now they’re skin is AMAZING except for the acne scars from before. My mama says that I’m not allowed to go on it until i’m a sophomore (i’m in 8th now).
So for now I try to cover up my acne with makeup.
I have Oily skin, especially all around my nose. But in the winter my face feels so dry to the point where it itches and flakes on my forehead, but my nose is STILL oily!
I have a lot of tiny blackheads and occasional white heads all around this area too, and i’ve had a big Cyst that comes back about once very few months.
oh and my lower cheeks/jawline have some splotchy redness as well.
So my question is What is a good Foundation/Concealer for me? Right now I’m using MaryKay brand, and I don’t like it because it rubs off easily. I’d prefer to get the sephora or clinique-type brands if the makeup buy is worth it. So what are you’re reccomendations?
And while I’m at these stores do you have any suggestions for Mascara? I really want to find one that gives me EXTREME length.
oh and if you have a really good skin cleanser/wash/moisturizing types for me I’d LOVE YOU!
I am sixteeeen and don’t give me crap like: ‘WAHHH u dnt wear makeup? LOSER’ cos really, grow up
yeah, so never been one for makeup, just cos! But anywhoo, in year 11 now and got leaving school in a year, got lots of senior events coming up etc, so thought id try out start wearing makeup.
but i am lost haha if someone coul just give me a quick idea of where to start, concealer, foundation? mascara.
THANKS.
Hello there
I am looking for makeup suggestions that will match my hair, eyes ect.

I am hoping you can suggest the best brand/type of:

Any other suggestions are great
