Lip Rings and A Septum Piercing?

By , November 19, 2011 7:02 pm

ok, so i am getting my lip ring done in 2 weeks (i would have it right now, but the peircest had gone away for 2 weeks so yeah)
anyway, i am 14 and my mom is coming in with me to sign the paper and stuuuff. . . but when i am 16 i will be probably joining the navy and i will have to take out the peircing.

now i absolutely LOVE piercings! :D
(i have already pierced my lip myself twice, but i had to take it out the first time and the second time i didnt pierce it quite right)

and i actualy want snakebite and a septum piercing.
i was asking mom if i could get them all before i was 16 so i could enjoy them for some time before i have to take them out.

she said no because she doesnt want my face to be “disfigured”. . . can someone please tell me the chances that a small piercing like a lip ring or a septum piercing will leave life-long disfiguring damage?

i am trying to convince my mom to let me (:

PLEASE AND THANKS!

(P. S: i WAS going to be allowed to get the second lip piercing and septum piercing when i was 16. . . but now with the navy thing, that could be out of the plan completely)

(P. P. S: i didnt want to add this before, to avoid confusion and also i dont want to push it with meh mom but i want two spiderbites, like double snakebite? hehe, well the outside ones would be rings and the inside would be studs. . . but anyway, i wont push it) lol.

Should i get another piercing. . . . . . . ?

i like the “spider bite” piercings and I’m planing on getting one, but i would like to know if other people find them attractive too.
(“spider bite” : when you have two lip piercing next to each other, like this link: http://www. flickr. com/photos/69035150@N02/6280355072/ <–photo i found on google :)

do you find them attractive? do you think it would suit my face :/?
( i already have one lip piercing and a nose piercing )

Megan — . . . . . . i ALREADY have my lip and nose done.

another monroe piercing question. ?

By , November 18, 2011 5:27 pm

i just got a new job where i cannot wear any facial piercings, including my monroe. i switch the ball out to the retainer everyday, but it gets pretty annoying and the retainer looks very horrible and unnatural. how long before i will be able to just leave the jewelry out for the four or five hours i am at work everyday and then put the stud back in at night? and also, until i get to that point, does anyone know of any more natural looking labret retainers, and where i can get them from?
i’ve only had it pierced for about 3 weeks now. . so i def. know it will be a long time from now if ever.
and that sucks about your monroe closing up. . i am really nervous and def. don’t want that to happen. its definitely my favorite piercing thus far.

female nipple piercing. . . answers please?

By , November 17, 2011 10:14 pm

Done enough research on this to make my head burst, even found a really good aftercare website for all types of piercings. SO my questions are these. . .

1/ Is saline solution a good rinse? I wear contacts and this would save me a good bit of money
2/ Does the gauge size of the piercing change the rate of healing? I have a pretty fast immune system when it comes to physical things, my second ear piercing took just under a month to fully heal, no infection or scarring :D
3/ Bra’s. To bra or not to bra? I’d really rather not go out without one on, so it is a good idea to have the next day free for healing?
4/ I have done some research around where I live and found three body piercing shops, all from about $85 to $100 for both done. Should I go to all and take a look around the shops or is cost a major issue?
5/ I have heard that one hurts less when you get both done due to adrenalin, I’d really like to know if this is a myth or truth.
6/ One I haven’t heard anything about is before care, is there any preparation i should do? Obviously showering is needed, but can i moisturize before hand? or is keeping everything as natural as possible better?
7/ I’m not going to ask about pain, youtube showed me enough of that o. 0. It’ll hurt hell loads but is having a friend/partner there helpful? Share the pain by crushing a hand? haha.
8/ What should I really look for when looking around at the piercing parlous? I know about clean work areas and sterile work surfaces but anything else? Will it be awkward if i ask to see certification. . or how they sterilize their needles? Yes i am a little worried about cleanliness, but this is a foreign object going into my body, i want to know 100% it is sterile.
9/ Will it be private? I’m not too fussed but still. . . Will the actual piercing take place away from the shop’s main area? And is it good to get in at a quiet day/time?
10/ Last and done. What type of piercing? People say barbells are best while others say rings are better, which would be best? And I know the type of metal the jewelery is varies from surgical steel to titanium to gold, I have no metal allergies to any of those but which is better? Is there a cost variation?

Thank you all for helping, and please no one trying to say ‘turn them while healing’. . . come on. . .

The website for aftercare, is Australian too! http://body-piercing. com. au/default. htm

beauty in fashion assignment for art?

By , November 16, 2011 8:38 pm

so in art we have to do this subject on beauty and Ive chosen to do mine on fashion because i just love fashion. . . however i dont know what to do (we have to do a massive piece at the end i think but we have to work up to it. . . any way to show and work up to it. the final piece can be in any media and i was thinking of making a dress something rather outrageous. )

I dont know how to show the work up to the final piece like exploring things and such. so far I have made a little 2inch clay heel (horse shoe high heel style) i have also made a quick dress out of newspaper, nothing interesting at all just ripped a piece f newspaper and raped it around the little wooden drawing doll. ) and the working up to it has to be done in 6 days and you need as much as possible stuff as possible

so if you have any ideas to help me for the work up and even the final piece please help me. im so clueless and have absolutely no idea what to do so please help me!!
thanks x

ps. im considering changing my topic but i think its too late and it wouldnt fit into the rest of my journal. . . however i then thought it could possibly fit into my fashion topic. tattoos and piercings can come under fashion right?

Is there anyway to ease the pain when getting a tattoo?

By , November 16, 2011 2:14 pm

First tattoo, ever.
The tattoo will be small behind my ear, with no coloring but it will be shaded in.
Friends of mine have told me it will hurt 10x more on soft thin skin. .
I know no matter what it is going to hurt.
I have four piercings (ears, nose, navel)
Is there any way I can help ease the pain while getting tattooed, or is it just one of those things that I will have to suck up & deal with the pain without pain relief?
I am looking for 110% honest answers, with knowledge or personal experience behind the answer.
This is an easy 10 points! :)

Want to get Labret Pierced not sure about after care?

By , November 16, 2011 1:26 am

Hi guys,

I’m hoping to get my Labret pierced ASAP, however I have concerns regarding the healing process. I am no stranger to piercings, 3-4 on each ear, both nipples and eyebrows; however this one worries me a bit as I am a Lecturer and Tutor at a university and don’t want to have a possible painful infection that would inhibit my speech.

For all of my other piercings, I’ve never had a problem, simply use the saline blended with mild anaethetic solution provided by my piercer and after a couple months, I assume there will be a similar procedure for a Labret, but given one half of the bar is in my mouth the rate of infection one would assume would be much greater.

I was wondering for those who are reading this that have got Labret and or are piercers (even better) if this fear is founded? If I got it on a Friday and followed the instructions (hoping you guys can provide some if not all) I would be okay for a Lecture Monday morning?

Thanks in Advance,

David

ps – whilst I respect the opinion of everyone who comments, I ask to restrict to those who have had Labrets done properly and or piercers.

Thank you

New lip piercing questions?

By , November 15, 2011 7:02 pm

So I had my lip pierced about 2 weeks ago, and everything has been going fine — I’ve been cleaning well with non-alcohol based mouthwash and saline solution. Most of the swelling is gone, and there is pretty much no pain unless I accidentally pull on the ring. However, the outside of the piercing is still pretty red, a circle about the size of a pencil eraser surrounds the piercing. On the inside, I have what appears to be a little blister right where the piercing enters my mouth. Still, it doesn’t hurt, and it’s been secreting lymph and the like as most of my piercings have before.

I am just wondering if this is all normal; is it supposed to still be red on the outside, and will the bump on the inside go away? I’ve had a number of piercings before, but none in my mouth, so this is a little out of my realm.

Thanks, any advice is appreciated :D

I think my cheek piercing are too tight, should I take them out?

By , November 14, 2011 11:02 am

I got my cheek piercings done on Saturday. Now they are really swollen. The ball is digging into my cheek in the inside. Should I take them out? I really don’t want to because I paid so much for them and I rally don’t have no choice but to leave them in or take it out. I have been cleaning them with saline solution on the outside and putting ice on the outside. and in the inside i have been eating ice and rinsing with the salt and water that was given to me by the piercer. Another issue is that I cannot get a hold of the piercer because it was at a street fair and it is no longer here. She was a professional and had her license and everything, I went to a local piercing shop and they want to charge me for a whole two other piercings because it wasn’t done by them and I just wanted to get a longer bar. so i have no idea what to do.

help me convince my parents to let me get another ear piercing?

By , November 13, 2011 3:50 pm

i’m 16 and have two lobe piercings on each ear. i’d really like another piercing, preferably my nose, but my parents are adamant that i don’t get one, so i want to try and convince them to let me get either a conch piercing on one ear, or my third lobe piercings on both ears.
as i said, i’m 16, and i don’t really think that having my ears pierced a few times is that big of a deal. i can understand the nose piercing, but i’d really like to get them to let me get my ears done
i don’t want to go behind their backs, because i want to maintain my parents respect and trust.
any ideas as to how i can convince them?
thanks guys :)
