By Amy, August 31, 2010 9:13 am

I got my belly button pierced in the begininning of Septemeber this year. Just recently it has been getting this hige thing of puss and skin and blood all in one part right underneath my puncture wound. Sometimes it sticks to my ring, and it is driving me crazy. And it stings when you touch it. I have been soaking it with salt water again, but i need advice on what to do. PLEASE help me. I really need it.
Thanks :)

Talk to the doctor about it and he will give you something for it. In the meantime put polisporn on it to ease the stinging. GOOD LUCK!

Take it out and try again

    Just simply keep cleaning it.
and if you already dont have a real ring get one,
if It gets worse, take it out.
If it still doesnt heal, go to a doc.
And then you could try repiercing.

I know that you probably don’t want to hear this, but it is infected. . . big time if what you describe is true. I think it would be best to take it out and go see a doctor, especially if there is pus. Pus is dead white blood cells that have been trying to fight infection but cannot so they build up. If you are not going to take it out, I would still consult a doctor anyway. You need to get this taken care of.

Never take out an infected piercing if this is truly infected although a bump really doesn’t usually mean infection.

Go have your piercer look at it asap. You don’t go to a piercer with a broken leg just as you don’t automatically go to a doctor when you have piercing problems. Go to the person that specializes in piercings.

that is actually alot of the healing process it takes a good yr but i found that using saline salt 2-3 times a day works good luck oh Titanium is the best to wear for the first yr heals faster.
