Swimming with belly button piercing – HELP?

By , September 7, 2010 11:58 am

I want to go swimming today in my pool, but I’m afraid the chlorine water will irritate my belly button piercing. I’ve had it for about a month and a half. It’s doing quite well.

Would it be okay if I went swimming?
Could I just clean the piercing after?

Help would be appreciated! ♥

I wouldn’t until you’ve had it at least 3 months because doing well isn’t the same as being healed. Soaking a healing piercing or tattoo in water can impede the healing process. But if you’re hellbent on going swimming try not to keep the piercing submerged too long and clean it as soon as you get out.

    I don’t think you should.
You have to be especially careful with body piercings.
Although the first answer says to wait at least 3 months, It would be a lot better if you waited at least 6.
