i am turning 18 and can’t get a tatto on or just after my birthday as ill be away and i wanted to know if could get a tattoo four days before my 18th with my parents consent in victoria australia?

   with concent i imaganed you could but think about it before you get a tatoo,but idk i live in the usa

   In the eyes of the law getting a tattoo 4 days before your 18th birthday carries the same penalty as getting a tattoo when you are 5 years old. The tattooist is still tattooing someone under age and the fine for doing so is pretty high. Parental consent does not alter the law for tattooing in Victoria just like it does not alter the law for buying alcohol in bars. Having parental consent will only mean that if the tattooist is caught then your parents may also face a fine for encouraging a criminal act.

   You should probably just wait a couple of weeks until you come back from your trip

   Try asking around at some shops in your area, tell them that your parents are willing to give their consent. Most of the time they would want your parents to be there while they are tattooing you.
