Does getting a tattoo really hurt?

I want to get a feather tattoo on the inside (inside. . not underside) of my ring finger. Is that a sensitive spot to get a tattoo? Also, how much does it hurt? What’s an example that of something that would cause the same amount of pain? (ie: pinching, scratching. . etc) Just so I can get an idea.

That is a really small canvas to work on, and it might be harder for a tattoo artist to place a tattoo there.
I got a 6×6 tattoo on my shoulder blade and it didn’t hurt. I would say imagine a cat scratching you. Towards the end of mine, since it took 2 hours, i also felt burning, because he started going over areas where he had already tattooed. but each person is different, and there is less meat on your finger, so it may hurt more.

Yes, it will hurt. I’m being honest. It may bleed but, just do your best to relax and take deep breaths. A place where it really hurts to get a tattoo would be your neck most likely. It feels like a stinging sensation but, that was my experiance. Good Luck and just relax.

Its going to hurt. Its going to burn and be kinda itchy and scratchy. I have 5 and the one that hurt the least was my foot. Worst was the top of my back and towards my neck. The healing process is the easy part. Swearing helped the pain :) good luck :)
