everyone says it depends on your pain tolerance. can you compare it to a piercing? how old should you be to get one? does it take a while to heal?

    . . . Duh.
If you’re going to get one, suck it up.
    If not, then don’t.
Make sure you want it though, cause it’ll never go away. . . . hopefully you knew that.
I thought it felt like a cat scratching at my skin for hours, but if it’s what you want, it shouldn’t be a problem.

yes, it hurts more than a piercing because it is more prolonged. i would consider 18 to be the youngest that you should get a tattoo, and it should be well thought-out. i consider them COMPLETELY healed after about 6 weeks.

You can’t really compare a tattoo to a piercing. Tattoos can last for a long time, and a piercing lasts a few seconds then it’s done. Tattoos machines have a different feeling than one needle going through your skin at a time. But to me, getting tattoos are worth it.

Mine is on my hip and it hurt like a biatch. Later someone told me that the closer to the bone, the more it hurts.

My pain tolerance is pretty good – have broken a few bones and had natural labor for 20 hours, but its harder to deal with this pain because you can’t fidget and readjust or rub it or anything.

Just realize that once it is started, you are pretty much committed to it – you don’t want half a tattoo.

No it does not hurt to get a tattoo. I have four and mine actually tickled in spots. If you get one on the bone it just feels like a small needle running across the bone which hurts, but if you get it in a place with some fat then you won’t feel it much. I recommend 18 being the youngest to get one because then you have time do decide if you will really want it in a few years or not. A tattoo normally takes anywhere from one to two weeks to heal. Hope this helped.

it depends where yhu’d get it , if yhur outlining , shadding , or going over it (this really hurts , LOL) . piercing & getting a tat i think is two diff pain ? & tat pain last longer then a piercing . i think it depends on how big it is or how deep or how thick it is to heal ? mine healed in a few days. . after getting it i’d suggest for u to used A&D ointment it works pretty good (: !

It does depend on pain tolerance and where it’s going on the body. Some places hurt more, some bleed more. You should be 18 or older, or 16 at minimum with a parent with both you and your parent having photo ID. It normally takes about a week to heal.

Well obviously, you should be over 18. That’s legal, and you will know make a better decision then. My tattoos were both illegal, seeing as I am under 18, and yes, I do regret it a bit.

I have 2 (very small) tattoos, one on my left thigh and one on my left palm. I also have had my cartilage, nose, navel, lip, and my ears pierced 5 times on each side. Obviously, a piercing is a one time pain, though it may be sore after. I got a lightning bolt tattooed on my palm, and it took at least 2 hours, even though it’s the size of a fingernail.

Tattoos hurt, but it’s not like someone is stabbing you with a knife repeatedly. It’s not like getting blood taken, either. It really does feel, at first, like some one is scratching you with a needle, or a cat’s nail. After a while, it gets numb, and while you do feel the needle against your skin, you don’t feel pain. You just feel movement. And it’s a little sore for a few days after.

It takes a while to heal. You have to be careful, and wash it with antiseptic soap twice a day.

its different to a piercing in that its a constant pain were as with a piercing it a sharp pain and its over. it feels like someone is scratching your skin with their nail in the same place over and over again. its a bare able pain. you have to be at least 18 to get one done. it will depend on the size of it and how well its treated as to how soon it would heal.

Well it depends on the area. The more bony/sensitive or fatty the area is the more its going to hurt. I got my first tattoo done 2 weeks ago now and i must say it wasn’t actually that painful to me. I was expecting it to be 10 times worse than it was. Well it hurt more in some places than others but it honestly wasn’t that bad. I got it done on the back of my right shoulder.

The pain is bearable and it feels a bit like a cat scratch only a tiny bit more painful, maybe like a cat scratch on top of sunburn. You get used to the pain though as when i was getting mine shaded/coloured i didn’t feel the pain in parts. Again it does depend on the area and your pain tolerance.

However the one you are getting is bound to more painful than a shoulder one as its on your ribs and your stomach. I think that the tattoo is really pretty but be sure that its the one you really want.

If you are getting one make sure its definitely the one you want and if it hurts then its worth it if its done right and its what you want.

In most places you have to be 18 years old to get one legally.

    Hope this helps :)

cat scratch on a sunburn, or being drawn on with a vibrating pen with a sharp tip, best way to describe mine.
