I understand why cartilage piercings take so long, that is much thicker than just skin. But why do belly piercings take 6-12 months to heal? That seems excessive.

I’m 16 and i’m getting my belly button piercing this week. i want to know if the piercing will be healed enough to be able to take it out for an hour or so once lacrosse season starts in the spring.
ohh and on a scale of 1 – 10 how bad does it hurt?

Say I have an eyebrow piercing today, then a few weeks down the line I have a job interview and need to take it out. How long could I leave the piercing out without it healing itself?

I am going to have my mother (who is a hairstylist) bleach my hair and go to dye it my natural hair color, which is dirty blonde (not Brunette) I need some good hair products to help my hair heal after I do this…Any suggestions?

I got it done yesterday with a needle in a sterile environment by a reputable piercer, with a titanium bar.
I intend to clean it with salt water in the morning and piercing solution every night.
I hear that titanium reduces healing time drastically.
I also take zinc supplements which I’ve heard speeds up healing.
How long do you suppose it will take?

I got a tattoo going down the right side of my back a week ago. I was told to try not to wear a bra or anything tight on it because it could spread the ink and ruin the tattoo. How long do I have to do this for?

What is it chemically about sea salt that makes sea-salt soaks so good for healing piercings? How does it work on a microscopic level (if it kills bacteria, for example, how does it do it)?

I got a rook piercing on Oct 8 and it still hasn’t completely healed, and also does it go back down to the original size that it was before it was pierced?
I knew if I tooko it out the holes would close. But, i wasn wondering if it will be the same size as my other rook when it fully heals with the bar in place.

Not the healing time after the initial piercing, but how long after removing the jewelry from a fully healed (4 weeks), standard gauge tongue piercing will the hole be closed enough that I can’t put the bar back in?

This is useful for times when I dont want it in, like for a job interview or to see my grandparents, but will leaving it out for a few hours or a day be enough time for the hole to seal up?

I got my nose pierced three months ago and just recently formed a bump on the outside of my nose right by the piercing. There is not a bump on the inside. How can I fix this problem before it gets any worse?
