By , January 29, 2011 1:18 am

hi, i just want some makeup tips for everyday makeup, i wear makeup a lot but i always manage to look like i have caked it on and it looks crap. i go to a strict school so it’s gotta look natural, i have foundation, primer, eyeliner, mascara, blush, bronzer, lip gloss, lipstick, concealer and i don’t really wanna buy anymore, i just want my skin to look flawless and kinda glow but look natural at the same time. any ways to make my eyes look bigger and brighter too would be great, thanks heaps :)

What makeup colours suit me? (Judging by my pic)?

By , January 29, 2011 1:18 am

I only took my profile pic a few seconds ago. I was wondering what kind of colours I should be wearing?

The lip colour I have atm I absolutely love, so maybe some eye shades that you think would suit it? I currently only put eyeliner on my top lid, a small amount of dark eye shadow and mascara.

Thanks guys. :P My eyes are green.

I do have some green shades but they are very light and pale. I wonder if it would look better to wear it heavy? Cuz Im not a big fan of light eyeshadows on me.

How do I look older? Like hairstyles and makeup tips even?

By , January 29, 2011 1:18 am

Okay well I look really young. Everyone mistakes me for two years younger, which really bugs me because, at my age, two years makes a huge difference.

I used to think it was because I’m short – which is probably part of it. But people are now saying “No its not your height, you just don’t look 14. ”

So how can I look older? I don’t want to be 14 and look like an 18 year old, I would just like to look my age. Does anyone have tips?

I dont want tips on the way I dress or act, by the way. That part, well, people can deal with that. Its just that I personally would like to look my age. So just like hair and makeup tips or something please.

Oh and I really don’t wear much makeup: Just a bit of mascara, bit of eyeliner and a touch of foundation every so often. So I don’t want it caked on, just any ideas.

Appropriate, serious answers only please. Thanks so much! Have a great day :)
Bahahahaha I am seriously NOT that type of person- never will be. Thats disgusting.

As for my motives, I’m just sick of being mistaken for a little girl. People think I’m younger- therefore they think I’m not as responsible as I am, which means that I can’t babysit because I look so young.

Confusing, yes. But what the first answerer said about my motives: No way!!

Also, the thing is, I WANT to look 14, I am that age, but look around 12. I don’t want to look 18, I just want to look my age :)

Anyways, please keep answering and thanks so much!!! :)

HELP! Acne Prone Skin -Clinique Make-up?

By , January 29, 2011 12:27 am

I have mild acne on my cheeks
I am currently using Napoleon Perdis
– foundation stick (which is more like a concealer) for everyday foundation
- camera finish (powder to set the foundation)
I use this stuff everyday, and am convinced it may be the source of my acne problems.

I was told Clinique make good make-up and particularly, there clarifying foundation and powder.
- I want good coverage (foremost)
- But something that is good for my skin and will help my acne

If you have used clinique before or have heard anythign good please advise. Also any comments on the current foundation i use, if you know anythign about it. and what make-up is the best – expect for mineral powders.

How do you apply make-up on an over 35 larger woman?

By , January 28, 2011 8:57 pm

I am helping my aunt out with her wedding make-up and she is a tad overweight, you would call her obese medically. She has fair skin and short brown hair that is in tight curls, freckles as well but just a light spattering. I have never applied make-up to a larger woman before and I was wondering if anyone had tips??? Especially eyes, she wants to incorporate purple into it. Actually help with the whole face!!
its more the age group and certain colours on a larger woman tend to look not as good so i was hoping on advice what would look best

How do I know what makeup colors to use for my skin complexion?

By , January 28, 2011 4:42 pm

I want to start using makeup, but I’m not sure what colors to use, what brand to buy, or what I should use at all. (Blush, lipstick, ct. )

I have very pale and sensitive skin. I have light freckles under my eyes which I don’t want to get rid of. My eyes are big and my eye lashes are short and straight. I have small and thin eyebrows. My lips are thin. My face shape is round. I want to start using mascara and eyeliner, I don’t know if black or brown would be best. After that I’m pretty much lost. People have told me that earth tones would look best on me, but I’m not entirely sure.
No drugstore brands, please.

Suggestions anyone? I’d really appreciate it.

A little life story and should I wear make-up?

By , January 28, 2011 12:23 pm

I bumped into an ex-best friend the other day and she kept asking me why don’t I straighten my hair any more and wear make-up. It was really awkward as she kept asking who I hang around with and I only have a few friends now. I’m 17, don’t drive and am a virgin, which is weird for someone who is in college where I live. I used to get compliments a lot and was told I was thin. I thought the only reason guys found me attractive and people liked me was because I was thin so I tried to lose weight and now I’ve had bulimia for three years, although my lowest weight was only 7 stone (5’7).

I only ever really wore mascara and eyeliner because I hate my eyes and I don’t have spots. But I think bulimia has made me even uglier (even though I’ve been clean for two weeks) my face is really pale and I have dark circles which never seem to go away. So anyway, I think I need to wear foundation to cover it up and I’m fed up with bumping into people and telling they’re thinking ‘wow she’s let herself go’ etc. I just want to blend in and not feel so uncomfortable around people. What foundation won’t affect my skin anymore and is vegetarian friendly? I don’t want anything tested on animals. Sorry about this ramble but it’s nice to get off my chest as I can’t talk to anyone.

preferably christian PARENTS to answer! but other suggestions welcome!! views on daughter wearing makeup?

By , January 28, 2011 12:23 pm

I am from an asian Christian family and i am currently 15 years old. i want to start wearing makeup but i am scared to ask my parents because they are christian and i dont know if its considered “bad” or not. . . ? i am not a rebellious person and i try to listen to my parents. i would never wear makeup without them knowing. . .

i only want to wear basic stuff like mascara and concealer (i already wear lip gloss) but i am so scared that my parents will yell at me for even suggesting it! i wasnt really allowed to wear nail polish till last year. my mom keeps hinting different things. like for my school dance, she seemed okay with me wearing makeup and my dad said i looked nice that night so i thought it was okay for me to wear makeup but then whenever i see a makeup ad on tv and i make a hint my mum stays quite and pretends she didnt hear.

and btw, for the dance, my mum didnt buy me any makeup. . she didnt even think to buy any cos i was going to a relatives house to get ready. . but i bought some stuff without her knowing and i hid it but then i think she may have found it. . . . but im not sure. . . she didnt talk to me about it but im pretty sure she saw it. . . but she usually confronts me in those kinda situations. . . so im really not sure.

i really dont want to ask if i think they’ll say no because that will make the topic even more awkward and hard to talk about in the future. a month ago my mum let me buy a toner cos i have kinda bad pimples so is toner considered makeup? but i dont think she sees it as makeup, more like a cleanser. im allowed to use hair products like hair spray, heat protectant spray, hair straighteners and curlers, etc. .

so, christian parents, would you ever let your daughter wear makeup considering she wouldnt do it behind your back? and if so, what age would you let her? and do you see makeup as being a bad thing for christians?

btw, i live in a place where girls dont start wearing make up until like year 9. . . unlike other places where people start at like 12 yo.

and especially cos i have never shown that i am interested in makeup ? i didnt really start wanting to wear it until my school dance. oh and my friends bought me some eyeliner and eyeshadow for my bday but my mum was just like. . . “woah who bought you makeup?” and i answered and she put it back in the bag straight away without saying anything else. . .

sorry for making this so long but i think the more details the better. . . please help!
my mum rarely wears makeup, only for weddings or very very special occasions (not even when going out to a nice restaurant for dinner) and even then she wears very little. . .
